Spox: Russia can retaliate against US Magnitsky list extension

MOSCOW, Dec 21 (PRIME) -- The Kremlin will most probably retaliate against the inclusion of Ramzan Kadyrov, head of Russia’s republic of Chechnya, and four other people in the U.S. sanctions list under the Magnitsky law for alleged violation of human rights, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Thursday.

“We can assume with a large degree of probability that sure, a principle of mutuality will be met,” Peskov said. “We see these sanctions as unlawful, unfriendly, we disagree with them.”
